Writing blog posts started with Manfred’s first website in 1996 and has since spread to this site and to many more sites for organizations like Chainguard, CloudBees, DZone, the Eclipse Foundation, Oracle, Salesforce, Starburst, Sonatype, Takari, Telus, the Trino Software Foundation, and WalmartLabs. The write log collects the posts and articles published on those other sites, and the blog holds the ones written here.

When it comes to the tools of the trade to write, Manfred prefers to stick to his background. Plain text, simple markup language, and software development tools like editors and version control systems keep the distractions at bay and allow him to concentrate on the content.
